The pills albeit capsules which are easier for me to swallow, are very large. I have taken tried taking these with food, lactose free milk, marshmallow root, slippery elm knowing it will effect the absorbency. Nothing helped. I had to take antacids & awoke with extreme burning middle of night still then having to take Famotidine. It’s a horrible product and I should have known better then to waste my money. I recently read that Puritan’s Pride has become a bad company to deal with & I must say I don’t want to try to battle with them to get my money back as I have in the past. As far as the famotidine, I cannot vouch for it’s safety but I don’t see any recalls on it yet that have cancer causing agents in it like ranitidine or the other acid reducers in recent yrs. Back to this product: I can only caution those with GERD, Acid reflux or any other esophagus type troubles to use extreme caution. This product does not work for pain & the only reason I tried was my Neurologist said it would help. She was wrong. NSAIDS with all their warnings, don’t hurt me as much. This is my personal opinion. (Note) it does say you can try it as a tea. I have not done that nor do I plan to at this time.

If this doesn’t help with your inflammation, it’s perhaps because the amount of standardized extract is only 1/5th of that of Jarrow’s curcumin supplement. Jarrow had resolved the inflammatory pain in my knees, but when I switched to this brand, the pain returned. Upon investigating, I find this PP brand has far less of the standardized extract (100 mg vs 500). Even tho the Puritan’s has 900 mg of additional curcumin (not standardized extract), plus Biopeperine, this apparently doesn’t supply the same level of anti-inflammatory effect for me. Although i’d have to go on and off of it again to help ensure there weren’t any other intervening factors such as dietary changes, etc.

I ordered a bottle of 1000 mg. Not sure it is helping, but ordered a second bottle of 1000 mg. The pills in the second bottle were twice a big as the first bottle. I suspect the first bottle was mis labeled. I called Puritan Pride but could get no real interest. It is very disturbing that a supplement could be packaged wrong. This could be a health issue to someone depending on the supplement. Most buyers, like myself, would have no idea if the dose in the pills is correct.
