Picture is self-explanatory about the situation.
Very noisy unit. Impossible to use at any setting except the lowest. They use low-quality air pump without decoupling it from the wood. So the whole noise transfers out. They think that by sticking some open-cell foam into the pump compartment, they will be able to dampen the sound. Well, Soundproofing 101 — In order to stop vibration noise, you need to decouple the source from solid mediums!
The makeshift box I made above was so that I could use it at the lowest setting! Those advertising this as “quiet” must have degraded hearing. You cannot sleep in the same room with this.
It might be okay for noisy office spaces or spa rooms, but if your house is quiet, you will regret it.
I have similar item from another seller. It is the same as well because Shenzen Tyloc/Rainbow company manufactures it (for $15), and everyone here sells it for $80!!!
I am returning this and ordering a $25 unit. With a proper soundproofed box, it will work well for its purpose.

I rarely write reviews but this product exceeds my expectation, so here it goes:
With the free shipping option, it arrives within 2 days–much faster than the Amazon estimated 7-10 days, in a nicely packaged box. Putting together is a no-brainer. The product is simply beautiful. A work of art, consisted just a wood base and glass bottle/cap. I especially appreciate the good taste exhibited in making the diffuser–no harmful plastic, no LED light. Pure and simple!
After adding the essential oils and turning it on, I smell the fragrance instantly. Within minutes the entire room is permeated with the aroma. I turn the knob down to about 1/3 of the full strength. That way the essential oils won’t got vaporized so quickly. Also at this volume the humming sound of the motor is barely noticeable.
The cleaning process is simple too. There are lots of videos the owner posted online which are very helpful. On the instruction it says if the motor wears out after one-year warranty expires, the owner will still replace it (for free…will see about that). My impression is that the owner shows his care not only in the design of this diffuser but also in the after-sales service.

All I can say is I love this diffuser….I had 4 water diffusers and they all stopped working…This diffuser uses no water, which makes this wonderful because it uses air and vibration to diffuse the oils. You can really tell the difference in the strength of the oils. The water diffusers diluted the oils. This diffuser does not dilute the oils. It runs for 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off for 4 hours, then shuts off automatically. When the diffuser is not on you can still smell the oil really well. I does make a low humming noise when on high, but on medium to low you can barely hear anything. I love it and have used it for about 4 days now. So far I love it!!!!!

This diffuser very quietly fills my entire open concept 800sqft apartment with the scent of essential oils in a matter of minutes. If I run it for longer it even travels down a hallway into my bedroom. I have a second one in the bedroom because I like to diffuse something different before bed. The diffuser makes a very very faint hum when turned up to the maximum setting but it is less noticeable than the sound of a wall clock. Very easy to clean. I clean it every few weeks by swishing some hot water and and a bit of isopropyl alcohol in the class reservoir. I love that it doesn’t use water or heat so the oils aren’t diluted and their therapeutic integrity is kept intact. I have zero complaints about this product. It is truly perfect!

Arrived in a timely fashion.
Excellent packaging, nothing broken/cracked.
Smaller than I expected, but works as advertised.
It’s the little engine that could, had it working almost non-stop since arrival.
My new favourite toy.
Thought it was broken at first, then remembered… 10 mins on, 10 mins off – 4 hr timer ? Oops!
